Our Story

Hello, y’all! I’m Sydney — owner, baker, and proud mama behind Bubble & Bloom Bakeshop.

If you had told me a year ago that I’d be running a bakeshop, I probably would’ve laughed, handed you a cup of coffee, and gone back to charting notes as an RN. But life has a way of surprising us in the most unexpected and beautiful ways.

So, how did Bubble & Bloom come to life? By complete accident.

In mid 2023, my husband and I took a trip to Germany — and like most people who eat their way through Europe, we came home wondering: Why doesn’t our food taste like that? More importantly, why does it make us all feel terrible?

That trip planted a seed. Not long after, a dear friend gifted me a sourdough starter. Spoiler alert: I killed it. Several times, actually. But eventually — and stubbornly — I got it right. And when I did? Everything changed.

I started baking for friends. Then for friends of friends. Then their friends. And somehow… the loaves kept rising. Literally and figuratively.

From RN to rising dough

Being a nurse is a part of who I am. But somewhere deep down, I felt a pull — a call to do something more creative, more nourishing in a different way. Bubble & Bloom became that calling.

And let’s be real: this little bakery dream wouldn’t exist without the unwavering support of my husband and our three teenage boys. They’ve been my biggest cheerleaders, taste testers, and delivery crew. (The boys are especially good at eating the "imperfect" loaves.)

What you’ll find at Bubble & Bloom

Every item you’ll find here is handmade with intention and love. I care deeply about sourcing good ingredients, baking with care, and creating something that feels like home — whether it's your first bite or your fiftieth.

So come say hi. Let’s talk bread. Or life. Or both.

I can’t wait to meet you and serve y’all — from my kitchen to your table.

With gratitude and flour dust,
Sydney
